Height: 20.25" Personality: Sweet, friendly and quiet.
Named after the Hawaiian goddess of the sea, Maka is a nice improvement in length and width over her dam. Standing straight and wide between the hocks, this lovely doe also stands on the easy to maintain hooves that I strive for. Slow to mature, she had a steady but not very capacious first freshening in 2018. It was wonderful to see her blossom in 2019 with a MUCH more capacious second freshening, She has a beautiful udder with easy to express teats. I am happy to see how easily she carried and kidded triplets, delivering all three in 10 minutes with no drama and wonderfully sensible mothering skills. Traits I value highly.
Not full in this picture, I quickly pulled her out of the pasture, snapped a photo and put her back in the pasture with her kid.

Personality:Friendly, mellow and sweet. Super personality!
Moana is long bodied, very dairy with a nice brisket, front end and a strong topline. She has a beautiful udder that is an absolute JOY to hand milk! Seriously, my favorite ever doe to milk and that is saying something considering how much I loved milking her grandam Leilani before retiring her. Add to that Moana’s wonderful hardiness, super easy kidding ability and great mothering skills... she is darn near my perfect goat. Her fourth freshening udder is quite capacious with nice large teats, good teat placement, strong medial and she milks down to nothing beautifully.
Moana earned her milk star in 2020 while being milked once a day and being fed a non performance diet. We didn’t feed alfalfa hay or Chaffhaye in 2020. She did great on just local grass hay free choice, with alfalfa pellets and oats while on the milk stand.
