We focus on breeding high quality dairy goats with correct conformation, friendly temperaments, hardiness and the ability to easily and generously fill a milk pail while being hand milked once a day. We participate in LA, DHIR and also have a long standing interest in improving the milk production in polled lines and we make careful selections accordingly. You can learn more about our breeding program here.

How to Reserve a Kid, INFO & Sales Policies
How to Buy a Kid From Us: Please fill out the reservation form (link above), there is no charge to be added to our list. Does are usually scheduled to kid in early April, nature willing. After the kids are born and evaluated for a few weeks, we will email you to let you know what kids are available. You will have 48 hours to decide if you would like to purchase the kid, if we do not hear back from you, we will move on to the next person in line. A $100 non refundable deposit will hold the kid until it is ready to go home to you. A "yes" without a deposit does not hold the kid. Deposits are non refundable, unless we contact you to let you know that we are not able to fill your reservation that kidding season. The balance is due upon pickup of kids. Kids are typically weaned at 12 weeks old. Any reservations on kids not picked up by 13 weeks old will be charged a boarding fee of $5.00 a day. We accept cash or PayPal only. No personal checks. We reserve the right to retain any kid for our breeding program. All doe and buck kids are registered with ADGA prior to going to their new homes, unless one is specifically being sold without papers. Wethers are not eligible for registration.
*Tip* - Our reservation list fills quickly, if you are interested in getting a kid from us I would recommend getting your name on the list as early as possible. Due to us getting older, our busy work schedules and our own health challenges, we are not breeding as many goats each year as we used to, we only breed enough (1-2 does a year) for our personal milk supply. If we don't have what you want this year you can always roll your reservation over to the following year. Placing a reservation is usually the only way to buy a kid from us. It is rare for us to have unreserved kids advertised for sale. Occasionally, we may sell an adult that has worked its way out of our breeding program. If you are interested in a particular adult, please contact us to have your name placed on an interest list and we will contact folks on that list if it were to become available. Most are sold without being advertised.
Pricing: 2022 kid prices start at $500 for registered doe and buck kids, and $200 for wethers and non breeding does. We keep our herd small so we can give each adult and kid individual attention. We want them to go home to you friendly and well socialized. We make every effort to price competitively based on quality, genetics, achievements and "extras". Kids from parents with achievements will be priced higher, these may include the dam having earned her milk star, sire having been awarded his *B or +B status, dam or sire having earned their superior genetics status and/or championship wins. Extras such as a kid having the genetic bonus of being polled will cost a bit more due to demand.
Pick Up & Transportation: Our farm is conveniently located right off of I-5, just 20 minutes north of Portland, Oregon. Kids must be picked up at our farm, we do not provide transportation.
A Note on Horns: Temperament is VERY important to us and we have spent many years proactively selecting in our bloodline towards friendly, easy going goats. Because of this, and our ongoing commitment to humane, low density animal husbandry (influenced by years living in Europe and seeing how differently they do things there), we no longer disbud kids. If you plan to show or would like a goat without horns, we always have high quality polled breedings each year that you can choose from.
A Note on Bucks: If you are interested in reserving a buckling please be aware that all male kids are evaluated after they are born to determine if they are buck quality. We are very selective on who we keep intact. The choice will be based on the buckling's conformation, temperament, his dam's and sire's quality and his dam's udder and milking ability. Given that the Nigerian Dwarf buck market is so flooded, we want to do our part in helping to reduce the number of bucks and ensure that you have the confidence you are purchasing a quality herdsire prospect.
Health & Biosecurity: Kids are dam raised for 12 weeks to ensure good rumen development, with lots of socialization and human interaction. All kids are on a coccidiosis prevention protocol and will also be wormed prior to going home. We started our herd in 2012, have tested regularly through both WADDL and Biotracking and have never had a CL, CAE or Johne's positive goat. After many years of negative results we have closed our doe herd, switched to testing every few years, and only purchase bucks for our breeding program from herds that have have tested CL/CAE/Johne's negative. Visitors to our farm should wear clean clothes that no ruminants (goats, sheep, cattle, etc...) have come in contact with since washing and may be asked to use a disinfectant foot spray prior to accessing areas where goats are present. Visitors are not allowed in our pastures but are welcome to visit with the goats in the barn. Absolutely no visiting dogs are allowed on the property. As well as being a safety risk to our goats, they also cause undue stress to our goats, chickens and livestock guardian dogs.
Buck Service: We do not offer buck service.
Guarantees: Although we evaluate the wellness of an animal to ensure it is healthy prior to leaving our farm, we can not guarantee the health of an animal after it leaves due to many variables including, but not limited to, different environmental conditions, management practices and diet.
